A Jeep is pretty much green-lit now. Just gotta nail that pricing.
I test drove a JK and a JL. The JK was a used 2018 with 18,000 miles (30,000km) for $25,000CAD. It showed signs of abuse and had 2 owners already. I knocked them down to $23,000 but....ehh. Maybe for $20-21.
The JL was brand new and was $31,000CAD and a pleasure to drive. Also a manual. The dealer was kinda icky, so I bounced. Not wishing to talk straight up on pricing but wanting very much to talk about free BBQs and shit like that.
I think, with current incentives and financing, a new JL looks quite competitive, even at such a significant price delta. JL will have higher resale and drives better. Plus has modern stuff like a backup cam and android auto.
Also, they offered me $8500 for the Kia. Which is $1500 less than I paid two years and 20,000km ago, but I kinda wanted higher.

There are dealers in the states who’ll order from the factory for you at 5% below invoice. I’d try to find a deal like that.

Jeep Oz won’t bring in low spec Wranglers so they start at over fifty grand here ...and the Oz dollar and Canadian dollar are pretty much at parity.
The trade-in offer for the Kia is very generous to my way of thinking...

The biggest issue I see is that it’s not in Bikini Pearl.

Wow, they didn’t even bother to vacuum that JK, much less actually clean.

I know. I had to back it off the embankment they had it on too. Oh well

A used Jeep is a used car I’d be very careful about, warrants a PPI more than a malaise era Ferrari.

Nah, you don’t understand... that’s part of the sales procedure for a Wrangler...

N ew Jeep prices are outrageous, but used Jeep prices actually make the MSRP seem reasonable.

Around here those are either actually used off-road (like a Jeep, with maybe similar damage) or slumber in a rich boomer’s garage and see nary a speck of dirt. Hey, that sounds like some Jeeps too.

They both have ridiculous resale, but at least a new Jeep offers something you can't get in a 10 year old one. Can't say that about the Taco.
